Wales National Travel Survey - Accessibility statement
Accessibility Statement for the Wales National Travel Survey
Introduction
Transport for Wales is committed to making the Wales National Travel Survey (WNTS) accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This accessibility statement applies to the online WNTS survey instrument.
We have used the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) international standard 2.2 as our guide.
You can learn more about these standards here https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/.
We are aiming to meet the AA standard for the WNTS online survey instrument. This means that we will look to fix any outstanding A level issues and endeavour to fix AA issues. We will do this so that as many people as possible can engage with and complete the WNTS online.
Compliance status
The WNTS online survey instrument is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.
The content listed below does not comply:
- Accessible labels are not consistent with some visible labels
- Settings attributed to some radio buttons and checkboxes
- Labelling of expansion fields to indicate that new content is available
- Some visually hidden, unused buttons are still encountered by assistive technology
- Automatic and unannounced progression to the next survey question following the selection of radio buttons on some questions
- The sequence of input fields, options or guidance on the map does not follow a logical order when using the tab functionality
- Labelling of arrows and radio buttons used in expandable questions
- Visible labels not provided for all fields
- Definition of language not attributed to text on a page where both Welsh and English are displayed
- Poor contrast colour shown on the Ordnance Survey map displaying which address is currently selected
- Zoom functionality of the Ordnance Survey map inhibits visibility of key items
- Clear notification that a selection has been made within the map
We are working closely with our survey delivery partners to improve accessibility for users and meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) international standard 2.2.
