Proposed bus service changes
Below, you will find a list of all the services where we have proposed a change. These are split by area and listed numerically to help you find the services that you are interested in.
Services which have no proposed changes are not listed here. You do not need to read the full list of changes and can move on to Section 3 to give feedback on specific services and/or one general area.
Flintshire and Denbighshire
f18: Flint to Rhyl (via Prestatyn)
Prestatyn to Rhyl section withdrawn. Together with improvements to the f19, enables an improved, more regular and more frequent service for passengers east of Prestatyn (e.g. Flint, Bagillt, Greenfield, Maes Pennant, Mostyn, Penyffordd, Gwespyr, Talacre and Gronant). Passengers travelling between Prestatyn and Rhyl may continue to use services 11, 35 and 36, with four departures an hour across these services.
f19: Flint to Rhyl (via Prestatyn)

Gwynedd
ff8: Dinas to Pwllheli
This route replaces the 8A and will provide one morning peak eastbound and two afternoon westbound fixed route, fixed timetable journeys between Dinas and Pwllheli via Llaniestyn, Garnfadryn, Penbodlas and Rhydycladfy on Monday to Friday. This is principally for the benefit of students attending college or school in Pwllheli. Service adapted to cover the links with the highest demand, while ensuring that students are not impacted. During off-peak hours, passengers in Llaniestyn and Rhydycladfy will have a reduction in bus frequency.
g1: Caernarfon Local Service
Increased frequency of journeys throughout the day on Mondays to Saturdays. Provides additional evening services Monday to Saturday, as well as additional afternoon and evening services on Sundays. The increased frequency of the service will provide passengers with improved access to Caernarfon on both weekdays and weekends.
g4: Bro Silyn to Caernarfon
Increased frequency and late afternoon/evening journeys have been added to Sundays. Additional journeys have been added in both directions. These include an evening service from Bro Silyn as well as a later afternoon and an early evening journey from Caernarfon Bus Station. The first journey on Sunday will start at Bro Silyn rather than Ysgol Baladeulyn as is currently the case.
g14: Pwllheli to Trefor (via Morfa Nefyn)
Routes 14 and 27 have been combined in parts to create a continuous connection between Pwllheli, Morfa Nefyn and Trefor. Provides an increased frequency connection between Morfa Nefyn and Trefor. This route no longer calls at Pentre-uchaf and Llannor, as the 27 did, however these locations are now covered by the g15.
g15: Pwllheli to Nefyn (via Llannor and Pentre-uchaf)
The route has been updated to include Llannor and Pentre-uchaf. The amendments to this route provide increased frequency and will run hourly Monday to Saturday, and every two hours on Sundays. This route no longer includes Boduan, however this area is now covered by the g14.
g16: Pwllheli Local Service (including Morfa Carreg and Ysgol Cymerau)
This route has been updated to provide regular public transport access to Morfa Carreg and Ysgol Cymerau. This additional route will provide public service access at a regular frequency Monday to Saturday, which also includes improved access to Gimlet Rock Holiday Park. Clwb Golff Pwllheli and Lon Ceredigion Pwllheli are no longer part of the route, however these locations will be served by the expanded and enhanced fflecsi Llŷn Peninsula demand responsive service.
g17: Pwllheli to Aberdaron
The g17 combines the current 17 and 17B into one route, removing Llangwnnadl, Penllech, Penycaerau and Rhiw. The service has increased frequency and a more consistent run time. This route no longer calls at Llangwnnadl, Llandegwning, Rhiw and Llanfaelrhys. Access to these areas is replaced by the expanded and enhanced fflecsi Llŷn Peninsula demand responsive service.
g18: Pwllheli to Porthmadog
No proposed route changes, but the service has been given an improved frequency. This route no longer calls at Warren. Warren has however now been added to the newly created g23.
g23: Barmouth to Abersoch (via Porthmadog and Pwllheli)
Combining routes 3 and G23 to create a continuous bus journey from Barmouth to Pwllheli and Abersoch. Passengers will no longer need to change buses in Porthmadog when travelling between Pwllheli and Barmouth, making travel between the locations easier, more convenient and reducing travel time. This route will provide an hourly service on Monday to Saturday daytime between Abersoch and Pwllheli direct via the A499 road.
Wrexham
w56: Wrexham to Chester (via Farndon)
Operates every two hours rather than every one-and-a-half hours. Rather than use the Greyhound, the proposed route serves parts of South Acton and Borras Park. The change of frequency enables an easier to understand timetable, with the number of journeys per day remaining the same. Direct access from parts of east Wrexham to Chester. Although the frequency is reduced, there is no reduction in the number of journeys per day. Slightly longer journey time from Farndon to Wrexham. The Croesnewydd Road section of the existing TL1 would not be served. There are hourly journeys on the T51 to compensate.
w57: Wrexham Local Service
Offering an improved service for passengers, with most roads currently served continuing to be served but with a timetable operating over a greater span of the day. Croesnewydd Road housing will no longer be served by this service, but can use the hourly T51 instead.
w58: Wrexham Local Service
Offering an improved service for passengers, with the routing staying the same but with a timetable operating over a greater span of the day.
Anglesey
ff63: Rhosybol to Menai Bridge
The service retains two fixed route, fixed timetable journeys on Monday to Friday provided by a fflecsi vehicle. An eastbound morning peak journey will operate from Rhosybol to Menai Bridge via Llannerchymedd, Maenaddwyn, Brynteg, Marianglas, Benllech, Llanbedrgoch, Pentraeth and Llansadwrn. A westbound evening peak journey will operate from Menai Bridge to Rhosybol via the reverse route.
Llannerchymedd, Maenaddwyn and Rhosybol will be served by the new y5 service (Llangefni to Rhosgoch via Amlwch). Benllech, Brynteg, Marianglas and Pentraeth will be served by the new y2 service (Bangor to Holyhead via Amlwch). Llanbedrgoch, Llansadwrn and Pentraeth Nant y Felin will be served by the new fflecsi Beaumaris demand responsive service.
x43: Llangefni to Bangor
An additional journey in the reverse peak direction has been added, improving the service between Llangefni and Bangor.
y1: Bangor to Holyhead (via Llangefni)
The service will have more regular frequencies. Two journeys in each direction divert between Gwalchmai and Llangefni via Bodffordd on Monday to Saturday, providing a through service from Bodffordd to Bangor without needing to change buses. Slightly fewer trips will operate via Rhostrehwfa compared to the current service.
y2: Bangor to Holyhead (via Amlwch)
Combination of current routes 61 and 62 that will offer through journeys across Amlwch all day. Llanfechell will be served by a Monday to Friday morning peak service to Bangor and a Monday to Friday evening peak service from Bangor, and by the new fflecsi Amlwch demand responsive service.
The route will also operate via Ysbyty Gwynedd between Bangor railway station and Menai Bridge to improve access for patients, visitors and staff. This means a slower journey between Bangor, Menai Bridge and Amlwch. More journeys overall will operate between Bangor and Amlwch on Mondays to Fridays.
y3: Bangor to Llangoed (via Beaumaris)
Journeys consolidated under one route and overall service frequency improved to a regular hourly frequency, with slightly more journeys throughout the day. Penmon will no longer be served and there will be a reduced service to Llanddona, however both areas will be served by the new fflecsi Beaumaris demand responsive service. More journeys from Aberffraw and Rhosneigr to Holyhead compared to the current 25.
y4: Bangor to Holyhead (via Southern Anglesey)
Combination of current routes 21, 25 and 42 to provide a Bangor to Holyhead link via communities in the southern part of Anglesey. The service will no longer operate to and from Llangefni, as other services such as the y6 and y7 will replace these links. More journeys from Aberffraw and Rhosneigr to Holyhead compared to the current 25.
y5: Llangefni to Rhosgoch (via Amlwch)
Largely the same as service 32, but with Corn Hir included from service 48. More journeys between Llangefni and Amlwch and between Llangefni town centre and Corn Hir. One peak journey extends to and from Rhosgoch. Two journeys extend to and from Lon Wen in Amlwch.
y6: Amlwch to Newborough (via Benllech and Llangefni)
Service 54 linked across Llangefni with parts of services 50 and 55. More journeys compared with existing services to the majority of towns and villages served. New direct link between Moelfre and Llangefni.
y7: Llangefni to Rhosneigr (via Aberffraw)
The Llangefni to Aberffraw section of the current 42 will be covered by the y7. Some peak journeys will be extended to and from Rhosneigr. Separating this section from the Bangor link will improve reliability, as journeys will no longer be delayed by congestion around Bangor and the Menai crossings.
y8: Amlwch to Holyhead
No longer serving Trefor or Llynfaes, although Trefor will be served by some y4 journeys. More journeys will operate via Gwalchmai Uchaf.
y9: Holyhead Town Service
All Holyhead town services linked together as one service. This change will deliver much improved links to and from Parc Siopa Caergybi, Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley and the Morrisons and Tesco Extra stores, improving access for shoppers and staff. Most route sections have fewer journeys compared to current services.
fflecsi Amlwch: North West Anglesey Demand Responsive Service
A new proposed fflecsi zone covering the north-west of Anglesey. Passengers can be picked up and dropped off in Llangefni and Amlwch. Communities covered include Bodewryd, Borthwen, Carmel, Carreg-lefn, Dulas, Elim, Four Crosses, Glan-yr-Afon, Llanddeusant, Llaneilian, Llanfair-yng-Nghornwy, Llanfechell, Llanfwrog, Llantrisant, Llechcynfarwy, Llynfaes, Mynydd Mechell, Nebo, Pengorfwysfa, Penrhyd Lastra, Porth Swtan, Rhosgoch, Trefadog and Trefor.
fflecsi Beaumaris: Beaumaris Area Demand Responsive Service
A new proposed fflecsi zone covering the Beaumaris area of Anglesey. Passengers can be picked up and dropped off in Beaumaris, Pentraeth and Menai Bridge. Communities covered include Caim, Glan Afon, Llanbedrgoch, Llanddona, Llanfihangel Din Sylwy, Llaniestyn, Llansadwrn, Lleiniog, Marian Dyrys, Penmon, Penrhyn Safnas, Pentre Llwyn, Pentraeth Nant y Felin, Red Wharf Bay, Tandinas and Ty Gwyn.
