Can you take bikes on TfW trains?

Yes, bikes are welcome on our trains. We may not always be able to carry them during very busy periods such as rush hour or during events.

Travelling by train is a great way to take your bike on longer journeys. Whether you’re commuting or setting off on a cycling adventure, the train is safe, convenient and quick.

We also offer bike reservations on some of our services to help take the hassle out of your journey.

Here are the rules for taking your bike on the train:

  • Please reserve your spot if you can.
  • We may not have space for your bike during very busy periods.
  • You can’t travel with tandem bikes, motorcycles, e-scooters and tricycles for safety reasons.
  • Bikes go free on our trains.
  • Please check your route before travelling.
  • Don’t obstruct doors or aisles.
  • Bikes are taken onboard at your risk.

 

How do I make a bike reservation?

When ordering your ticket, highlight that you’d like to reserve a bike spot. If available, you’ll be given a reservation spot, which is permission to take your bike on the train.

If you don’t do this, you can also contact us to request a reservation for your bike.
