Wales Coast Path by rail
The Wales Coast Path is one of the ultimate long-distance walking challenges in the world. It’s a formidable 1,400km long and runs the entire Welsh coastline.
To help you tackle it, we’ve split the route in eight parts, highlighting the nearest railway stations. Check out TrawsCymru to see how you can reach other parts by bus. It’s possible to complete the entire path using public transport.
Walking gives you unique access to the wilds of Wales. Get the beaches of Pembrokeshire to yourself. See the Gower in all its glory. Watch the sun rise over the mountains of Eryri. Discover the scenic wetlands of Newport.
It’s also a green way to travel. Travelling by public transport limits the environmental impact of how you get there and makes linear walks possible.
Want to try out the path? We’ve collated several short stretches you can reach by train or bus. Walk them on a Sunday afternoon and get a taste of walking the Welsh coast.
