Update: Incident due to a fault on a train between Swansea (SWA) and Shrewsbury (SHR) until the end of the day.

Due to a fault on a train between Swansea (SWA) and Shrewsbury (SHR):

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 17:48 until the end of the day.

We have been made aware of a train fault, affecting our services between Swansea and Shrewsbury on the Heart of Wales line.


As a result, our 17:48 Swansea - Shrewsbury service via the Heart of Wales will now start at Llandrindod. Our 18:35 Shrewsbury - Swansea service via the Heart of Wales will terminate at Llandrindod.


Our services between Swansea and Shrewsbury via the Heart of Wales line are disrupted in both directions, and will remain disrupted until end of service today.



Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Swansea and Shrewsbury to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at:

  • Swansea at approximately 18:30 calling all stops to Llandrindod, provided by Francis. Customers can then change at Llandrindod for replacement road transport calling all stops between Llandrindod and Shrewsbury, provided by AC Jenkins.
  • Llandrindod at approximately 20:30 calling all stops to Swansea, operated by Gower.

These arrangements are in place on services until end of service today.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Update: Incident due to a problem with line-side equipment at Llanbradach (LNB) until the end of the day.

Due to a problem with line-side equipment at Llanbradach (LNB):

Services may be delayed by up to 5 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Queen Street (CDQ) and Rhymney (RHY).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

We have been made aware of a problem with the overhead electric wires at Llanbradach.

For safety, services in the area are subject to disruption and may be cancelled, delayed or revised. We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.

Customers can use local bus services between Cardiff and Coryton to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

  • 21, 23, 24, 25, 27, 86 Cardiff Bus services.
  • 26 Stagecoach

We advise passengers to tap out at the earliest opportunity.

Update: Incident due to a fault with barriers at a level crossing between Llanelli (LLE) and Carmarthen (CMN) until the end of the day.

Due to a fault with barriers at a level crossing between Llanelli (LLE) and Carmarthen (CMN):

Services will be delayed by up to 10 minutes.

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

We have been made aware of a problem with barriers at a level crossing at Pembrey & Burry Port,


Until the problem has been resolved trains will be delayed through the area with our services between Carmarthen and Llanelli being disrupted in both directions.
