Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Pwllheli (PWL) and Machynlleth (MCN):
We expect the incident to last until 09:00 on 16/09/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 06:29 on 16/09/2026 until 09:00 on 16/09/2026.
We have been made aware of more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time, affecting our services between Pwllheli and Machynlleth.
As a result, the following services have been cancelled:
- 06:29 Pwllheli - Barmouth
- 07:53 Barmouth - Machynlleth
Our services from Pwllheli heading towards Machynlleth are disrupted.
We expect the incident to be cleared by 09:00. Train services may be disrupted until 09:00.
Please note: our 07:24 Pwllheli - Birmingham International service is unaffected by this incident.
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised buses to run between Pwllheli and Barmouth, and Barmouth and Machynlleth to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at
- Pwllheli at approximately 06:29 provided by Lloyds, calling all stops to Barmouth. This service will then set down customers as required to Machynlleth.
- Barmouth at approximately 07:53 provided by Lloyds, calling all stops to Machynlleth.
These arrangements are in place on services until 09:00
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
