- Exit the station and turn right. Cross over the road and take the footpath sign to your left heading into the playground. Follow the path down the right hand side and keep right until the path meets the road by a big house with black and white detail.
- Cross over the road heading left and you will see the footpath sign taking you through the hole in the wall and up to the church. Follow to the church and round the right hand side of the building. The church is usually open to visitors. Leaving through the main gate on your right is Gladstone Library. Built in 1902 it is a unique institution and worth a visit.
- Continue down Church lane to the main road and turn left. Follow the short distance to the cross roads. To your right is the entrance to Hawarden Castle grounds. Much of the castle grounds is closed to the public but you can walk through this main entrance through their lovely parkland to view the Castle.
- When you have done this come back through the main entrance and turn left heading down the hill and past the car park. Just after the car park cross over the road and take the gate onto the footpath. Follow the path until you reach some buildings. Here take the track up to the right towards more houses.
- When you enter the housing estate take the first left. A final cut through will take you through to the main road where you turn left and are back at the station.
