Llandeilo route map
  1. Be sure to leave the train station via the car park - there is an accessible railway line area to do this if required. Leave the station heading along the left side of Station Road. Follow this until you arrive at a T-Junction. Head left here heading uphill on Rhosmaen Street which is the main road through Llandeilo. Just a short way up the road using the crossing point to cross to the other side and then take the next right onto New Road.
  2. Follow this road heading uphill and around to the right as it becomes Carmarthen Road. Use a safe crossing point on this stretch to make your way to the other side of the road. After a short while take the entrance into Dinefwr Park on your left opposite the entrance to Diana Road. You are now on the main track that will lead you all the way to the entrance to Dinefwr Park - there is no safe mobility path so take care as cars will pass you on this track.

Llandeilo Ramblers Cymru route

  1. Leave the station via the car park side and take the steep staircase which is part of the Heart of Wales Line Trail - keep an eye out for the waymarks. At the top of the stairs go left and follow Alan Road to reach a T-Junction. Head left here heading uphill on Rhosmaen Street and take the next right turn onto New Road.
  2. Follow this road uphill, and at the top go straight ahead into Parc Penllan. Follow the main path as it wraps around to the left and continue on the bottom path with the bandstand above you. Follow this path as it wraps around and starts to climb upwards. Before this path starts to turn to the right to head around to the bandstand take the path down to your left to head into Coed Castell.
  3. This woodland is managed by the Wildlife Trust. Follow this up and down path as it leads you through the woodland to eventually drop onto a wide lower pathway. Go right here and continue right as this path climbs up to reach the main track heading to Dinefwr Park.
  4. Rather than head onto this main track, take to the smaller path on your left to continue through the pockets of woodland which runs parallel to this main track. Follow this path to it’s end when it will bring you out onto the main track. Go left here and follow this main track as it leads you all the way to the entrance of Dinefwr Park.

Having enjoyed your time at Dinefwr Park, on your way back to the station take the time to head up to the main high street of Llandeilo. As you return back to Rhosmaen Street head right heading uphill and this will lead you to the main shopping area where there are plenty of places for refreshments.

On your return to the station there are more options to explore on the other side if the train station. Take the path that leads you behind the platform and across the river over the bridge. Head right here and follow this path all the way to reach a road. Cross this road here which gives you entry into Coed Tregib Nature Reserve.
