This route follows pavements into the town then follows the beach and the dunes before returning by a similar route.

Routes can be affected by path closures, blockages and diversions. If you find yourself unable to continue with your walk please try to find an alternate route or retrace your steps. Report any issues to your local authority. All information is correct at the time of publishing and is subject to change.

 

1. Exit the station and turn left following the pavement along the road. Pass the Golf Club and the road will bend round to the left. Follow all the way down to the clocktower in the middle of the village. Here you will find shops and cafes. Cross straight over at the tower and continue down the street towards the sea (for public toilets follow signage left after Sandy Mount House).
2. The road will lead down to the sea then bend round to the left. Follow this. When the road bends left again carry straight onto the beach.
3. At the beach once you have rounded the wall, look left and you will see a small footbridge. Head up to and across the bridge into the sand dunes. From here there are a number of paths across the dunes to explore or you can cut back to and along the beach. All give excellent views.
4. When you reach the houses at the end of the beach/dunes turn left following their track up to meet the road (the caravans will be on your right hand side).
5. When you reach the road follow the pavement left back into the village. You will arrive back at the clocktower. Turn right to retrace your steps to the station.
