Bus franchising

We’re changing Wales’ bus network so it puts people and communities first. One of the main ways we’ll do this is by introducing a new way of running bus services called franchising.

This will deliver more reliable bus services, more equitable bus fares and simpler ticketing and timetables. It will also allow us to better connect bus services with each other and other modes of transport, so Wales’ transport network works as one.

As we introduce franchising, we’ll continue working closely with local communities, partners and operators to ensure the network reflects local needs and supports future growth across Wales.
