Retail lovers have Swansea’s answer to Oxford Street to explore. Lined with all the high street big names and designer brands, and many that are quintessentially Welsh, this is the place to shop. Independent boutiques showcasing local crafts and unusual gifts can be found tucked in between the bright lights, but head toward the Market for an even more eclectic collection of goods. Under the Victorian curved glass ceiling, you can browse the hundred plus stalls full of artisan wares, studio pieces and delicious local treats. 

If you need to chill out and fancy a walk on the wild side, the fabulous Gower Peninsula is breathtakingly beautiful. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these natural sand dunes, salt marshland and dramatic limestone cliffs possess the power to reinvigorate and energise, and this is the perfect place for a picnic. The diversity of the flora here - over 700 species, is down to the geology and unspoiled history of the peninsula. Watch out for pods of visiting bottle-nosed dolphins and harbour porpoises who often visit the bay, while kittiwakes, guillemots and razorbills skim the waves. Simply glorious!
