Group train tickets are the perfect way for three or more people to save money when travelling together. With two options for 3 to 9 people or 10 or more, we can find you the best group tickets to help cut your costs.

Be sure to travel at the agreed times with your full group to ensure tickets are valid.

Types of Group train tickets

We’ve got two types of Group tickets, depending on how many people you’re travelling with.

Small Group day tickets - 3 to 9 people

If there’re three to nine of you travelling together, you can save money by buying a Small Group Day ticket. This offers a 15% discount on Standard Day Returns.

Small Group Day tickets are valid on our network after 09:30, Monday to Friday, all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

All members of the group must travel together at all times to validate the ticket. Buy Group tickets on our website, app, from a station ticket machine or ticket office.

Group tickets cannot be used in conjunction with other offers like Family train tickets.

Large Group train tickets - 10 people or more

With a Large Group train ticket, you can save up to 25% on our Standard fares for groups of 10 or more. Group tickets are limited in number and must be bought at least seven days ahead of travel.

Tickets are valid on our network after 09:30, Monday to Friday, all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

All members of the group must travel together at all times to validate the ticket. It also cannot be used in conjunction with other offers such as Family tickets.

Things to remember when travelling with a Group train ticket:

Your group must travel together on the same trains.
We don’t give child discounts with Small Group Day tickets, but they can be used by children.
Getting on and off trains in large groups can cause delays. We kindly ask that your group coordinator makes sure everyone is prepared for the departure and arrival of your train.
Arrive at the station platform at least ten minutes before your train departs.
On the train, ahead of your arrival, your group should have all their belongings packed up and be ready to go.
