What can you see on the Cambrian Coast railway?
The Cambrian Coast railway is one of the most scenic rail routes in Britain. The line hugs the edge of Cardigan Bay for much of its journey, with sweeping views out to sea on one side and the mountains of Eryri rising on the other.
Stop in Porthmadog, where the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways both depart into the mountains. Spend a few hours in Barmouth, a classic seaside town with a long sandy beach and an iconic Victorian railway bridge spanning the Mawddach Estuary. Head south to Aberdyfi, one of the prettiest harbour towns in Wales, or continue to Aberystwyth for its pier, promenade and castle ruins.
The Cambrian line is the kind of route that makes train travel feel like the destination itself. Whether you're planning a full day of exploring or simply want to sit back and take in the view, this ticket gives you the freedom to travel the whole coast at your own pace.
