What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a points failure at Crewe.
For safety, train services will be running more slowly than normal through the area, with residual delays of around 30 minutes to be expected. Our services to Manchester Piccadilly will be diverted via Warrington Bank Quay which means we will no longer be able to serve Stockport and Wilmslow. We expect this to last until the end of the day.
Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently on site trying to rectify the issue with the affected points.
