Due to a road vehicle colliding with level crossing barriers between Nantwich (NAN) and Crewe (CRE):
Services may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Services may be cancelled in both directions between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Crewe (CRE).
We expect the incident to last until 15:00 and disruption to services is expected until 16:00.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of road vehicle colliding with level crossing barriers between Nantwich and Crewe.
For safety, train services are running at a reduced speed through the area.
Our colleagues at Network Rail and the Police are currently on site.
We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from Network Rail.
Alternative Travel Options
Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:
- West Midlands Railway between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street.
- CrossCountry between Manchester Piccadilly and Cardiff Central via Birmingham New Street and Bristol Parkway.
These arrangements are in place on services until further notice.
Alternatively, customers can use their tickets on Transport for Wales services between Shrewsbury and Crewe via Chester at no extra cost.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
