Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB):

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 14:00 until the end of the day.

What's Happened?

Due to a shortage of trains, fewer trains are able to run between Newport and Ebbw vale Town.

We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.

Alternative Travel Options

You can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

  • Route 56 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Crosskeys via Rogerstone and Ponytmister.
  • Route X15 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Llanhilleth via Rogerstone, Crosskeys and Newbridge.
  • Route 151 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Newbridge via Pye Corner, Rogerstone, Pontymister, Risca and Crosskeys.
  • Route 1 provided by Newport Bus between Newport and Rogerstone via Pye Corner.

Services may be delayed by up to 65 minutes.

We expect the incident to last until 17:00 and disruption to services is expected until 17:00.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of an issue with the track between Abergele & Pensarn and Rhyl.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Chester and Bangor to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at Chester at approximately 14:15 provided by Keanes Coaches.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Services may be delayed by up to 15 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Wrexham General (WRX) and Wrexham Central (WXC).

We expect the incident to last until 14:00 on 30/08/2026 and disruption to services is expected until 14:00 on 30/08/2026.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a signalling problem at Bidston.

For safety, train services will be running more slowly than normal through the area, with residual delays of around 15 minutes to be expected.

Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and Technicians are currently en route to the affected area.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Please continue to travel as planned, but expect delayed and cancellations between Wrexham General and Wrexham Central on your journey.

Due to a broken down train at Neath (NTH):

Services may be delayed by up to 45 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Carmarthen (CMN).

We expect the incident to last until 11:30 and disruption to services is expected from 09:45 until 13:30.

What's Happened?

A train has broken down at Neath meaning services between Cardiff Central and Carmarthen are subject to disruption and may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Our maintenance team are currently in contact with train crew working to rectify the problem.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from our maintenance team.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to remain on site at Swansea and Carmarthen to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at approximately 11:00 and are provided by Francis mini travel, Cymru Coaches, Gower mini travel, Davies Coaches, and Teulu Travel.

These arrangements are in place on services until 15:00.

We have also organised buses to cover the following journeys:

10:45 Carmarthen to Milford Haven

11:53 Milford Haven to Carmarthen

11:15 Briton Ferry to Swansea
