Update: Incident due to a fire next to the track between Crewe (CRE) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) until 16:30.

Due to a fire next to the track between Crewe (CRE) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN):

Services may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Crewe (CRE) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN).

We expect the incident to last until 16:30 and disruption to services is expected from 14:00 until 17:30.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a lineside fire at Sandbach between Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly.

For safety, train services are unable to run through the area.

Our colleagues at Network Rail/Amey Infrastructure are aware and staff are currently en route to the affected area.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from Network Rail.

Alternative Travel Options

Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:

Northern services by any reasonable route

CrossCountry services between Manchester Piccadilly and Bristol Parkway via Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street

These arrangements are in place on services until 17:30.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

Update: Incident due to a shortage of train drivers at Carmarthen (CMN) until the end of the day.

Due to a shortage of train drivers at Carmarthen (CMN):

Services will be cancelled at Carmarthen (CMN).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 08:30 until the end of the day.

We have organised buses to run between Carmarthen, Milford Haven and Pembroke Dock to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. The below services will be replaced by road transport.

Due to a shortage of train drivers between Swansea (SWA) and Llandrindod (LLO):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Swansea (SWA) and Llandrindod (LLO).

We expect the incident to last until 19:00 and disruption to services is expected from 15:00 until 20:00.

We have organised buses to run between Swansea and Llandrindod to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. The below services will be replaced by road transport.

15:18 Swansea to Llandrindod, provided by AC Jenkins and Gower. At Llandrindod customers will be met by another bus which will stop when necessary on the way to Shrewsbury, this will be provided by AC Jenkins.

18:03 Llandrindod to Swansea which will wait for incoming train. This will be provided by AC Jenkins and Gower.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
