The most obvious landmark is The Great Orme. This headland, with its wealth of flora and fauna offers a spectacular panoramic view across the Bay. Rising nearly 700 feet above sea level it’s a steep climb on foot to the top, luckily, however, there are other options for a more leisurely ascent. Both the Cable Car and the Tramway offer an easy-on-the-legs route to the summit. On the way up, look out for the herd of Kashmiri goats grazing on the rough, steep slopes. These white shaggy beasts are the descendants of two gifted by the Persian Shah to Queen Victoria, and they are a popular tourist attraction, especially during spring when the bouncy, enthusiastic Kashmiri goat kids arrive.

From the top of The Great Orme you can see Llandudno Pier as it stretches out into the Bay, and it’s well worth a closer look. This Grade II listed building is the longest pier in Wales at nearly 3000 feet, and holds the place for fifth longest pier in the UK. It’s a wonderful site to enjoy an ice cream and a stroll, or watch the sunset.

Fans of sporting activities should head for Llandudno Snowsports Centre. With the longest Toboggan run in the UK, getting your adrenaline buzz is easy. Skiing, snowboarding and tubing are all available, as is the little known, but highly enjoyable Alpine golf. The restaurant and coffee shop are there to help you recover.

The Venue Cymru theatre is perfect for a culture fix. Offering a year round programme of events, performances, and exhibitions, between the theatre and the large capacity arena, there’s something for everyone.
