Due to a points failure between Earlestown (ERL) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN):
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Warrington Bank Quay (WBQ) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN).
We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.
We have been made aware of a signalling problem in the Earlestown area. Until the signalling system is working normally, trains will be cancelled between Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Airport.
Please be aware that Northern are also affected by this incident. You can check your journey with any operator at tfw.wales.
We expect don't expect the incident to be cleared before the end of the day. Train services may be disrupted until the end of service tonight.
Our services between Chester and Manchester Airport via Manchester Piccadilly will all terminate at Warrington Bank Quay, with our services from Manchester Airport, Manchester Piccadilly towards Chester and Llandudno all starting at Warrington Bank Quay.
Please continue to travel as planned, but expect delays and cancellations on your journey.
We have organised buses to run between Newton-le-Willows and Warrington Bank Quay to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at Newton-le-Willows at approximately 17:15 provided by Northwich and Marios Coaches. These buses will operate as a shuttle service between Newton-le-Willows and Warrington Bank Quay.
These arrangements are in place on services until further notice.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

These arrangements are in place on services until further notice. If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
