Due to a fault with the signalling system between Wrexham General (WRX) and Chester (CTR):
Services will be delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Wrexham General (WRX) and Chester (CTR).
We expect the incident to last until 08:00 and disruption to services is expected from 04:00 until 10:00.
We have been made aware of a signalling problem between Chester and Wrexham.
As a result, train services will not be able to run through the area and will be diverting via Crewe until the signalling system is working normally.
Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area.
We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.
We have organised buses to run between Chester and Wrexham to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at Chester at approximately 06:10 provided by Northwich and Keanes. Road transport will also arrive at Wrexham General at approximately 06:30 provided by Keanes.
These arrangements are in place 12:00.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
