This colourful town is packed with fun family friendly attractions, cultural diversity and warm, friendly locals.

The beautifully designed Eastgate Clock stands at the site of the original Roman entrance to the town. The most photographed clock in the UK, after Big Ben, it was created to celebrate Queen Victoria’s silver jubilee, and is now a Grade I listed structure. Perfect as a landmark, it’s visible from many areas of the town.
Overlooking the River Dee, Chester Castle was constructed in 1070, improving the defensive capabilities of the town walls, and was added to in the 18th and 19th centuries. These newer parts now house the Military Museum, with collections of militaria dating from the 17th century and relating to the four British Army Cheshire branches - Cheshire Yeomanry and Regiment, the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards and the 3rd Carabiniers.
Chester Zoo is well worth the short journey on public transport to visit. One of the UK’s largest zoos, it’s home to a huge variety of animals.
