• Nestled in the beautiful Dyfi Valley, a stone’s throw from its estuary, Machynlleth is a charming little place to spend the afternoon exploring. There’s a brilliant market which takes place each Wednesday in the town centre and its famous town clock is well worth a visit.
• The site of Owain Glyndwr’s 1404 Parliament, why not visit the Owain Glyndwr Museum and find out more about the legendary Welsh leader.
• Fancy a laugh? Machynlleth Comedy Festival has garnered plenty of attention in recent years and takes place in the town every year - drawing in crowds from across Wales, the UK and further afield.
• Visit the Ynys Hir Nature Reserve, a few miles outside Machynlleth town centre. A popular filming location for BBC’s Springwatch, there’s some beautiful trails to explore through lowland wet grasslands, reedbed, and saltmarsh habitats.
