North West Pembrokeshire

Milford zone
This zone connects the villages in the Dale Peninsula and along the Cleddau from Burton to Hook to the larger towns of Haverfordwest and Milford Haven. There’s plenty of spectacular coastline and rural beauty to be explored in this part of Pembrokeshire, and a trip to see the fabulous puffins of Skomer Island is a must if you’re visiting the area.
Things to do
- Catch the fflecsi bus to Martin’s Haven and hop on the ferry across to Skomer Island and visit the puffins.
- Spend the day with the family at the beach. There’s plenty of great beaches to choose from in the Dale Peninsula, including Marloes Sands and Sandy Haven.
- Gaze upon the impressive Stack Rock Fort, just off the coast of Milford Haven. The 19th century fort was built to protect the area against invasion.
- Head along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to the lighthouse at St Anne’s Head.

South Pembrokeshire
Operating in and around the well-known seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot, as well as the historic town of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock. A hugely popular part of Pembrokeshire with visitors, Tenby’s picturesque harbour and beach is a must-see if you’re in the area. There’s also great connections to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and Caldey Island is a short boat ride away.
Things to do
- Spend the day as a family at some of Wales’ most popular attractions, such as Heatherton, Manor Wildlife Park and Tenby Dinosaur Park.
- Take a boat trip over to Caldey island - inhabited since the Stone Age, it’s been home to various orders of monks since Celtic times. It’s now owned by monks of the Cistercian Order, whose picturesque monastery overlooks the Village Green and the pretty cottages of the islanders.
- Explore the cosy streets of Tenby and spend the afternoon admiring its lovely harbour and beach.
- Enjoy some chips along the beachfront at Saundersfoot and visit one of its many great pubs.
- Head out on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path or visit fantastic beaches at Lydstep, Manorbier and Freshwater East.
- Visit spectacular castles at Pembroke, Manorbier and Carew.

Poppit zone
The 405 Poppit Rocket bus service which operates along the coast between Fishguard and Cardigan is now being operated as a fflecsi service. The service covers the area between Fishguard and Cardigan as well as the area to the south as far as Crymych. The service also provides a link to the Cardigan Integrated Health Centre.
Things to do
- Spend a day at the beach. There’s lovely beaches in this part of Pembrokeshire include Newport Beach and Poppit Sands.
- Walk the dramatic and spectacular Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and witness jaw-dropping beauty and wildlife. The north Pembrokeshire coast is a great place to spot dolphins, porpoise and seals.
- Visit Castell Henllys iron age fort to experience life as it was over 2000 years ago.
- Venture into the Preseli hills, the origin of the Stonehenge bluestones. Catch a lift to Crymych or Bwlch Gwynt to hike the Golden Road - a spectacular seven mile ridge walk, or visit magical Carn Ingli (Mount of Angels), above the pretty coastal village of Newport.
- Head into bustling Cardigan, for shops cafes and Cardigan Castle.

Mid Pembrokeshire
This zone covers the heart of mid Pembrokeshire between Letterston, Crymych, Clunderwen and Wiston. You can also travel from this zone both to and from Fishguard and Haverfordwest.
Things to do
- Visit 60 acres of park and woodland, walled gardens and children’s play areas at Scolton Manor and take a trip back in time with a visit to the Victorian manor house.
- Venture into the Preseli Hills, the origin of the Stonehenge bluestones, by following walking routes from Rosebush or Mynachlogddu.
