New: Incident due to overcrowding because of a rugby match between Cheltenham Spa (CNM) and Cardiff Central (CDF) until 17:00.

Due to overcrowding because of a rugby match between Cheltenham Spa (CNM) and Cardiff Central (CDF):

We expect the incident to last until 17:00 and disruption to services is expected from 11:26 until 17:00.

We have been made aware of overcrowding on services from Cheltenham Spa to Cardiff Central.

Due to large passenger numbers as a result of the Six Nations rugby match in Cardiff, services from Cheltenham Spa towards Cardiff Central will be busier then usual. This currently affects customer boarding Cardiff Central bound services at Lydney, Chepstow, Caldicot and Severn Tunnel Junction.

Our services from Cheltenham Spa towards Cardiff Central are disrupted.

We expect the incident to be cleared by 17:00. Train services are expected to be disrupted until 17:00.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have limited road transport running between Lydney and Newport (South Wales), and between Chepstow and Newport (South Wales) to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

For helpful advice if you need to travel on a rail replacement service, including accessibility and bicycle information, please visit National Rail’s https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/travel-information/rail-replacement-services/
