Due to a points failure at Newtown (Powys) (NWT):
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Pwllheli (PWL).
We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 20:30 until the end of the day.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a points failure at Newtown.
As a result, train services will not be able to run through the area until the points have been fixed.
Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area.
We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised buses to run between Machynlleth and Pwllheli to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at Machynlleth at approximately 22:55 provided by Lloyds.
These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
