Due to a safety inspection of the track between Chepstow (CPW) and Caldicot (CDT):
Services may be delayed by up to 15 minutes.
Services may be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Cheltenham Spa (CNM).
We expect the incident to last until 18:00 and disruption to services is expected until 18:00.
What's Happened?
Following an issue with the track between Chepstow and Caldicot, services are now able to run.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused and the disruption to your journey.
Alternative Travel Options:
Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:
- Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa with CrossCountry
- Cardiff Central to Cheltenham Spa via Bristol with GWR
- Cheltenham Spa and Bristol with CrossCountry
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
These arrangements are in place until 18:00.
We have organised a bus to run from Newport at 16:45, calling all stops to Gloucester. This bus will be operated by Star Coaches. You can use your rail ticket on the bus at no extra cost.
We have also organised a bus to run from Gloucester at 15:00 and 18:00, calling all stops to Newport. These buses will be operated by JKT International.You can use your rail ticket on the bus at no extra cost.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
